Illuminating our skies on September 7^th, the Full Corn Moon is a wonderful opportunity to begin preparing for the new season ahead. Here in the UK, Autumn begins on September 1^st, signified by the scattering of golden leaves and blackberries ripening in the hedgerow. However, astronomically we wait until the Autumn Equinox, which officially marks the start of Autumn on September 22^nd.

Lammas, also known as Lughnasadh, is a sabbat of the Wheel of the Year, celebrated on August 1^st. It is known as the first harvest festival and is traditionally linked to grains and fruit. Marking the cross-quarter day between the summer solstice and the autumn equinox, Lammas indicates the shift towards shorter days, as we honour the suns waning power.
