every piece tells a story…

Hi I’m Jo!

Based in mid-Cornwall

I’m Jo! The maker, stone-lover, and mess-maker behind Gemheaven Jewellery.

Gemheaven didn’t start as a big plan or a business idea. It began years ago with me sitting at a tiny table, teaching myself how to work with silver and falling completely in love with the process. What started as a hobby quickly became the thing I couldn’t stop thinking about, the colours of the stones, the feeling of shaping metal, the joy of making something meaningful with my own two hands.

Cornwall has always been a huge part of my inspiration. The sea, forests, the changing skies, the rugged landscape, it all finds its way into my designs.

You will often find elements of history, myth, magic and legends in my work, and of course, many of them are Cornish Tales and Folklores. My work is often described as weatherworn or weather-beaten, rustic in nature and my style as beautifully bohemian.

That’s the heart of Gemheaven. Jewellery that feels like it carries a story.

All work is completed by me in my studio on the east coast of Cornwall using traditional silver work techniques. Each piece has a little piece of the heart and soul of Cornwall and many pieces are unique or limited edition.

My heavier pieces are hallmarked with my Makers Mark in accordance to the British Assay Office ~ I am registered with The London Assay Office and I am also a member of the Guild of Jewellery Designers
