The Golden Glow of Autumn’s First Full Moon: The Harvest Moon

Waving farewell to summer feels slightly easier with the warm, golden glow of the Harvest Moon illuminating our skies. She brings her light to the night’s sky for the first few days of October, before the days get shorter and the nights grow darker.  

Unlike other moons, whose names correspond to specific months, the Harvest Moon moves with the season – aligning with the Autumn Equinox. Illuminating our skies this year on October 7th, we celebrate the Harvest Moon as the first Full Moon of Autumn and the first of three Supermoons.  

An Autumn Full Moon 

As we begin preparing for the winter chill, the Hunter Moon urges us to gather what we need and release what no longer serves us.
